Who and Why ?

Your Local Guru is an Edinburgh dweller, very much in love with his locale.

Local Guru is tired of buying products made at the other end of the world and is much more interested in a society that still makes stuff and maintains and innovates skills. He’s forever on the outlook for products of good quality for a consumer who likes to source more meaningful goods.

He has therefore decided to put together gradually an inventory that will help him and his followers keep track of what is on offer locally. He is keen to meet the producers in person to hear about their business ventures and how their products are made (LG will not ask for money). This could then be passed on to his followers in the form of blog posts and in his directory.

Local Guru is very conscious that local products tend to be more expensive than imported goods but makes the choice to consume less but better whenever possible. However, he is too much of a bon vivant to go for a straitjacket.  He also likes a bargain, so when a brand is attractive but expensive, he might wait for the sales. ;-)
